Despite the rise in obesity and weight problems generally, increasing numbers of people nowadays are very conscious about their own health and fitness. Health and fitness magazines may be to blame but perhaps it is also a desire to improve the way we look in a very image conscious society that we live in. Health clubs, gyms and many others have as a consequence become much busier and the trend looks to continue.

Increasingly we are being targeted at home as well with fitness and health product advertising and sponsorship found on TV. The other crucial part to this equation though is the need for every single one of us to watch what we eat and also the amount as there is s direct correlation between weight gain and the volume of food consumed by the average person. We need to remember that our bodies require a certain level of nourishment if they are going to be able to repair themselves and stay healthy and diet and fitness go hand in hand. What doesn't help the average person is what diet-fitness regime to follow as both seem to make sense; there is the one that says eat foods with high carbohydrate levels and the other which says you need to eat foods with a high fat content which appears to contradict everything we are told about dieting.
Of course having this contradiction explained does help and it is all down to what sort of diet is best when you exercise. High-carb diets are utilized with glycogen stored in the liver and muscles as glycogen is a glucose complex that provides large amounts of energy ready for use in anaerobic exercises.
5 times more calories than carbohydrates and proteins alike while studies also show that it takes the body 24 calories to metabolize carbohydrates while it only takes 3 to burn down fat. So a person can follow a high-carb and low fat fitness diet or the other way around but it is not recommended to follow both at the same time; unless of course if you want to gain body fat.
But then diet fitness is not all about losing stomach fat and you must also consider your diet in order to keep fat away. Studies show time and time again that to lose and keep the weight of, every diet must be tailored to individuals particular food tastes, their medical history and way they live their life.
Diet programs all over can help you shed off excess pounds, but only one diet can help you stay sexy, and it is the one that satisfies you most but other important aspects of having a fit diet are moderation, balance and variation. A person must be careful not to leave out important nutrients plus other substances necessary for healthy body functioning and health organizations are clear about the amounts of nutrients an individual should have in the body.
